Deloitte, which once offered sixteen weeks of fully paid parental leave, is reportedly scaling back to twelve. Zoom, the company that became synonymous with pandemic-era flexibility, is trimming its own program as part of broader cost-cutting measures.

The arithmetic of austerity

The timing is instructive. These cuts arrive not during a recession, but amid a period of corporate profitability that has seen executive compensation reach new heights.
